The Wolof people are found in North Eastern part of Senegal, Mauritania, and Gambia. The Wolof people are the largest ethnic grouping in Senegal (35% of the Senegalese populace) and in Gambia they are about 12% of the Gambian populace. The Wolof as a people are largely Muslim and they practice Islam as religion. 

 To form a stronger and stable family unit, the Wolof people believed that cross-cousin marriage (young man marrying a maternal uncle’s daughter) was the best form of marriage – they are matrilineal in nature. This favors the idea that such measures provided the best and most stable marriages.

A man who owns a cassowary which is known as world's deadliest bird', has been attacked and killed by his pet bird.

The 75-year-old man was savaged after he stumbled in the cassowary's enclosure while feeding it in Florida.

A cassowary is a large, flightless bird native to the tropical forests of New Guinea and north-eastern Australia.

The birds can kill humans and other animals with their huge talons capable of ripping open flesh.



The man, named in US media as Marvin Hajos, was mauled at 10am yesteday.

Lieutenant Brett Rhodenizer, from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, told mycbs4.com : "Unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries at the hospital."


"We are working in our investigation to confirm this was in fact a tragic accident for a man and his family."

The bird was reportedly being kept at the property as a pet. It has since been secured at the site, police said.

Cassowarys are not traded for meat in the US but are kept by some collectors.

Cecile Eledge offered to be a surrogate to her son who is married to his boyfriend after they revealed they were considering IVF.

But the mum of three assured them she ‘loved being pregnant’, and would ‘do it again in a heartbeat’.

Cecile also stunned medics when she gave birth naturally rather than by C-section as anticipated.

Elliot’s 26-year-old sister, Lea Yribe, then also offered the couple her eggs.


Cecile, from Nebraska in the US, began hormone treatments before her son's sperm was implanted in several fertilized eggs into Cecil’s uterus.

Remarkably she fell pregnant on the first attempt.


And after nine months of morning sickness and blood pressure spikes, Cecile gave birth on Monday.

Man Arrest son-in-law for Killing his Daughter with His Huge Joystick -VIDEO

An Indonesian man named Nedi Sito, of the village of Maron Kidul in the Maron District of Indonesia's East Java province, had arrested his son-in-law following the sudden death of his daughter Jumantri. He accused his son-in-law for killing his daughter with his huge joystick.

The mourning husband was forced to show Police his joystick after his father-in-law claimed it was so big it had killed his daughter during s.ex.

However, when the police brought the son-in-law, in for questioning and asked him to show them his joystick - in front of his late wife's grieving relatives - only to discover it was of normal size.


Real cause of death

The young woman was found dead in her bed, after suffering an apparent epileptic fit during the night.

But Mr Sito had heard rumours his son-in-law accidentally killed her during sex with his huge penis and reported it to police.

Barsah was then asked to show officers his genitals with members of the grieving family and village officials looking on as witnesses.


Probolinggo Police Crime Investigation Unit Head Riyanto said: "After seeing directly the genitalia that was thought to be over-sized, it turned out to be of the standard size.

"So right there and then the father-in-law dropped the report and they apologised to each other."

Mr Sito says the family has now accepted Jumantri died from epilepsy, which she had suffered from since the age of 14.
