France – No doubt Pogba has been one of France’s best performers
in Russia and is expected to start as his side take on either Croatia or
England on Sunday in Moscow.
Pogba 25 struggled for the Red Devils last season and was dropped
by Jose Mourinho midway through the campaign as he struggled for form and
fitness. However, Shearer believes Mourinho is to blame as much as Pogba for his
form at Old Trafford and says the Frenchman plays with fear at the club.
‘I think he plays with a freedom in this France team where if he
makes a mistake it’s accepted,’ said Shearer. ‘But if he does that in a Man
United shirt he looks as if he is scared.
Pogba had been linked with an exit from the club towards the end
of last season and Pep Guardiola claimed Manchester City had been offered the
chance to sign him.
However, Mourinho wants to keep Pogba and has signed Brazil star
Fred to play a three-man midfield of Pogba, Fred and Nemanja Matic.
